In 2020, I was approached by Robot Playground Media to help out in their original production called Downstairs (Season 2). This series is deeply rooted in the Singaporean culture, and quite a number of local comedians were also on board this production, lending their voices to the quirky characters of the series. It was delightful experience to bring these characters to life.
I was given 5 episodes to work on: “Outbreak”, “The Cafetiam”, “The Underwear Thief”, “Dong Disaster I” and “Dong Disaster II”. In these episodes, I handled most 2D animation portions, as well as effects.
Most assets were provided, but at times, I would create my own in order to achieve the visual impact intended. This shot took quite a few days due to the additional creature assets as well as the full hand-drawn effect creation.
